Google has announced the acquisition of Wiz, Inc., a leading cloud security platform based in New York, in a USD 32 billion all-cash deal.

Once finalized, Wiz will officially join Google Cloud in what is set to be one of the largest cybersecurity acquisitions in tech history.

Sundar Pichai, CEO of Google, emphasized the growing demand for reliable cloud security, stating, “Today, businesses and governments that run in the cloud are looking for even stronger security solutions, and greater choice in cloud computing providers.”

The acquisition strengthens Google Cloud’s focus on two major trends shaping the AI era: advancing cloud security and expanding multicloud capabilities.

Wiz’s user-friendly security platform, which seamlessly integrates with major cloud providers and development environments, enables organizations of all sizes—from startups to enterprises and government agencies—to protect their digital infrastructure.

Thomas Kurian, CEO of Google Cloud, highlighted the impact of the deal: “Enabling more companies to prevent cyber attacks, including in very complex business software environments, will help organizations minimize the cost, disruption, and hassle caused by cybersecurity incidents.”

Combining Google Cloud’s expertise in AI and security innovation with Wiz’s cutting-edge technology, the deal is expected to improve threat prevention, streamline security operations, and lower the costs of implementing cybersecurity measures. As AI-driven threats continue to evolve, the acquisition positions Google Cloud as a leader in protecting businesses across multiple cloud environments.

Assaf Rappaport, Co-Founder & CEO of Wiz, reassured customers that the company remains committed to its mission, stating, "Wiz and Google Cloud are fully committed to continue supporting and protecting customers across all major clouds, helping keep them safe and secure wherever they operate.”

With this acquisition, Google Cloud solidifies its role as a key player in the cybersecurity space, signaling a future where AI-powered security and multicloud flexibility become the industry standard.
