Microsoft and dLocal announced a historic partnership to integrate cutting-edge Artificial Intelligence (AI) solutions into the financial technology (fintech) sector. This alliance was unveiled at an event held at Microsoft’s AI Innovation Lab in Montevideo, one of the company’s four facilities outside the United States.

This long-term partnership emphasizes both companies’ commitment to driving Digital Transformation and improving financial inclusion in emerging markets.

It has also been crucial in fostering Microsoft’s expansion in several emerging economies, such as Chile, Colombia, Peru, Egypt, Nigeria, and South Africa, since 2018.

By providing localized payment solutions, dLocal ensures that Microsoft’s customers in emerging markets have simplified and efficient access to local payment methods, enhancing the overall user experience.

“Partnering with dLocal is a great opportunity for Microsoft to bring the power of AI to the fintech industry in all markets where dLocal operates. We are committed to driving digital transformation and improving financial inclusion through our cutting-edge technologies,” said Roberto Icasuriaga, director of Small and Medium Enterprises and Digital Natives for Latin America at Microsoft.

“We are thrilled to join forces with Microsoft to push the boundaries of what is possible in the fintech space. This collaboration will allow us to offer superior services to our clients and users, ensuring smooth, secure, and efficient financial transactions,” added Sergio Fogel, Co-Founder of dLocal.
