Sparkle, a leading global operator and the pioneer international service provider in Italy, has recently embarked on a groundbreaking initiative alongside Libya Postal Telecommunication and Technology Holding Company (LPTIC), a state-owned telecommunications organization in Libya.

The two entities have come together to forge a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the aim of constructing a novel submarine infrastructure.

This groundbreaking project seeks to establish connections between various landing points in Libya and Sicily, subsequently extending its reach to Europe via Italy.

The cornerstone of this endeavor lies in Sparkle's state-of-the-art BlueMed Submarine Cable (BlueMed), which will serve as the conduit for this ambitious infrastructure.

Signed by Mohamed IB. Mohamed Ben Ayad, Chairman of LPTIC, and Enrico Maria Bagnasco, Chief Executive Officer of Sparkle, the MoU also foresees the possibility for Sparkle to offer LPTIC additional services as well as rights over the BlueMed to be further examined and detailed by the parties in view of the definitive agreement.
