Achieving new milestones on its network expansion strategy, Windstream Wholesale's dark fiber Beach Route is now connecting fiber from the Jacksonville cable landing station (CLS) to the Myrtle Beach CLS and onwards to Raleigh. Additionally, Windstream Wholesale has partnered with Mid-Atlantic Broadband, Tilson Infrastructure, and SummitIG to expand the dark fiber service further north from Raleigh to Richmond and Ashburn.
Beach Route
Windstream Wholesale's Beach Route covers a distance of 690 miles along the East Coast, linking the Jacksonville CLS to the Myrtle Beach CLS, and extending to Raleigh.
This route boasts lower latency, making it particularly advantageous for cloud services and content delivery providers connecting Raleigh and the Research Triangle region of North Carolina to aerospace hubs in Savannah and Charleston.
Moreover, it provides access to subsea cables at the two major CLS sites along the route, enhancing connectivity options for businesses operating in the area.
Strategic Alliance
Extending the existing path by 315 route miles from Benson to Richmond and Ashburn, the newly formed Beach Route Dark Fiber Alliance simplifies networking solutions by eliminating the complexities of multi-vendor route options, offering customers a seamless experience.
With Windstream Wholesale overseeing all aspects of the network transaction, advantages include expanded fiber coverage, increased mileage, unified contracting, and a dedicated account team.
