Every day we all hear of new and innovative applications that are using the communications networks. Video is basically changing the way the world works today. Network providers are unlocking the value in their networks providing new and innovative services in addition to their transport.
The Telecom Review staff has been busy meeting industry leaders at several recent industry events including CTIA, Comptel, TIA and the Canadian Telecom Summit. One common theme heard at all of these events was that everyone and everything is connecting to the network!
In this issue we have several interesting interviews that highlight carrier CEO’s and their experience. We spoke with CEO Ken Campbell who has served in multiple management roles at several carriers around the world. We spoke with CEO Scott Widham to provide some insights into growing a carrier’s business. We have also spoken with Equinix, in the Cloud/Data Center world, to give us some insights into that growth area. This industry has seen explosive growth in the last few years.
In this issue Ericsson has provided insight into their video conferencing business and Qualcomm has provided some great background on the Machine to Machine (M2M) markets. These two large worldwide players have certainly embraced the connected network!
