MWC21 Los Angeles, organized by GSMA in partnership with CTIA, successfully took place at the Los Angeles Convention Centre from October 26 – 28, 2021. MWCLA was the third in-person event in the MWC series for this year. Telecom Review was once again involved in the event so we wanted to update our readers.

Last week marks a historic moment for all Americans with the passing of the Bipartisan Infrastructure Deal, that includes an enormous $65B investment for broadband deployment in unserved and underserved areas and adoption by in-need consumers. While this bill had a multitude of waste that had nothing to do with “infrastructure” it did have funding to address broadband needs in the US. This is the largest single Federal investment in broadband, and it will enable communities across the country to invest in fiber as their critical infrastructure, delivering jobs, economic development, online education, remote healthcare, public safety, smart grid modernization and a path to future services, such as 5G. Jeff Seal helped shape the bill contents and was successful in some of these areas. This investment will not only greatly improve nearly every aspect of our lives today but will help ensure digital equity for generations to come

The 2021 China Mobile Global Partners Conference 2021 began on Nov. 1st in Guangzhou China. The theme of the conference is “Digitally Connecting Everything, Intelligently Computing for the Future”, calling for industrial partners to contribute strength, discussing about opportunities in the development of digital economy and planning for the prospective of intelligent computing force. As one of the biggest and most influential annual meeting over the past eight years the China Mobile Global Partners Conference has been considered the weathervane of the information communications industry, hence guests of honor from the global industrial chain.

Telecom providers are expected to provide higher speeds and lower latency levels when it comes to connectivity solutions, either for retail, commercial, government, or individual customers. Satellite technologies have played an important role in providing these communication services globally, especially when the terrestrial connectivity infrastructure is not easily available.
